NMU To Host Superior Symposium for Grades 8-12 Friday May 14, 2021
Northern Michigan University will host the 14th Biennial Lake Superior Youth Symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 14. Students in grades 8-12 are invited to attend the virtual event with a teacher from their school who is registered by the May 6 deadline.
Activities will include watershed research, investigations, artistic expression, team/leadership building skills and recreational opportunities.
The symposium is designed to inspire and motivate teachers and students to become stewards of one of the greatest bodies of freshwater on the planet. It is typically a large-scale, in-person program for those who live in the Lake Superior Watershed area. The last time this region hosted the symposium was in 2007, when it was held at Bay Cliff.
“We have turned this several-day event into a virtual one-day offering and are still very excited about the ‘hands-on’ feel and schedule of speakers we have planned,” said Renee Jewett of the NMU Seaborg Center.
The fee is $50 per teacher/school. More details can be found at post NMU To Host Superior Symposium for Grades 8-12 Friday May 14, 2021 first appeared on Broadcast-everywhere.net.
