Marquette, MIJuly 4, 2021 – Independence Day wraps up with a bang as Americans gathered at Lower Harbor for the Fireworks show. After nearly two years since the last communal Independence Day celebration, the excited cheer was evident in all corners of the Upper Peninsula.

This year’s festivities proceeded beautifully, with the Marquette County festivities split between two days. Ishpeming celebrated a day early, with their parade taking place in the mid-morning and Al Quaal bustling with activity.

Celebrations moved to Marquette on the 4th as the parade set out at noon on Independence day. There was a great lineup for the parade this year, check out our story on the parade! Delighted guests traveled around the Food Fest, celebrating with friends and family.

mediaBrew took host at the Beer Tent down at FoodFest, and helped get the drinks out to the people.  There were food vendors, a bouncy fun house for the kids, live music, and good weather!  Our own Walt Lindala and his band The Flat Broke Blues Band were the last to play for the night, before the fireworks started!  See our post on the fireworks!  This year’s celebrations were long in the making, and we can’t wait to get together with you again next year!

Thank you to all of the sponsors and participants for another long-awaited Independence Day.
