NMU presents  “Promoting Health and Prosperity Using Behavior Analysis”  September 10, 2021

Northern Michigan University Adjunct Assistant Professor Forrest Toegel will give a presentation titled “Promoting Health and Prosperity Using Behavior Analysis” at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at 2906 West Science Hall on NMU’s campus. The presentation is part of the Psychological Science Colloquium Series.

Relative to the general population, people living in poverty are at an increased risk of various poor health outcomes including drug addiction, HIV, stroke, cancer and death, according to the event description. In this colloquium, Toegel will share results from some of his research in the areas of drug addiction and HIV.

Toegel has spent the past three years working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Learning and Health at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The Center for Learning and Health is a research-treatment center focused on developing behavioral interventions to promote drug abstinence, employment and medication adherence. The Center also aims to help lift people out of poverty.
