Negaunee, MI – July 10, 2021 – Happy Pioneer Days! Today was the last day of the week-long festivities, complete with a parade, fireworks, and fun on Teal Lake.
The parade started at 11:00 am, it felt great to have it back again this year! Starting on Iron Street, the parade went up to Main Street and turned left on Brown before stopping at the Negaunee High School football field.
After a week full of activities like the alumni softball games, Pioneer Princess Pageant, and other community-hosted events, it was a great way to start the last day of the fun week. The parade started with music played by the Negaunee City Band, which everyone was so happy to hear again after so long.
There were some great floats from local businesses and organizations like Campfire Coffee, Northland Lawn, Sport & Equipment, and Embers Credit Union. The Negaunee and surrounding counties’ firetrucks and police cars were scattered throughout as well as various Negaunee High School class reunion floats.
We’re so excited the Pioneer Days week is back in action, we’ll definitely be there next year!
